B-7000 PROJECT GUIDE 19

How to Reduce B-7000 Glue Strings While Crafting

Practical ways to control fine adhesive threads during rhinestone and detail work.

Before you begin

Read the directions supplied with your specific adhesive and test the complete material combination on a hidden area or spare sample.

Shorten the travel path

Strings become more noticeable when the nozzle moves a long distance between dots. Keep the tube close to the work, finish the dot with a controlled lift and move directly to a scrap card before starting the next group.

Keep a clean working tip

Residue on the outside of the nozzle can catch fresh adhesive and pull it across the project. Pause regularly to maintain the tip using the method permitted by the package directions, then recap during longer breaks.

Use smaller working groups

Dotting an entire design creates more chances for the tool, hand or tube to cross wet adhesive. Apply only to the next few stones and inspect under side lighting, where fine threads are easier to see.

Check the condition of the product

Unexpected texture can be related to storage, age or contamination. If the adhesive behaves very differently from earlier use, inspect the tube and directions. Replace damaged or questionable product before an important project.

Quick checklist

  • Keep the nozzle near the work
  • Clean the outside of the tip
  • Apply in short groups
  • Inspect product condition
