Read the directions supplied with your specific adhesive and test the complete material combination on a hidden area or spare sample.
Choose a panel that can carry the design
Look for a stable upper panel and avoid the outsole, tread, foot opening and areas that rub the ankle. Mark the lace path and any fold that changes shape when the shoe is worn. The best-looking layout is also the one that respects how the shoe moves.
Hold the upper in its normal shape
Stuff the shoe with clean paper or a suitable insert. The surface should be supported but not stretched beyond its worn shape. Rotate the shoe only between manageable sections so freshly placed stones do not slide down the curve.
Use size changes as a design tool
Place larger stones on the focal motif and use the smaller stones to soften edges or fill gaps. A narrow border can be easier to align than a full random field. Dry-lay both shoes together to keep the pair balanced before adding adhesive.
Set care expectations early
Decorated footwear may need gentler cleaning and more frequent inspection. Follow the shoe maker’s care guidance and the B-7000 label. Stop using the shoe if a loose stone becomes a sharp or removable hazard.
Quick checklist
- Keep the sole and foot opening clear
- Support the upper without stretching
- Dry-lay both shoes together
- Plan gentle care and inspection
