Read the directions supplied with your specific adhesive and test the complete material combination on a hidden area or spare sample.
Separate hold from full cure
A stone can stay in place before the bond reaches its final strength. Surface dryness only describes what you can feel at the exposed edge. Neither test replaces the curing guidance printed on your particular tube or package.
Plan the project around the calendar
Choose a table where the item can remain flat and protected from dust, children and pets. Start early enough to allow the full label-directed period before the object must be worn, wrapped, transported or cleaned.
Do not speed the bond with unapproved heat
Extra heat, strong airflow or repeated handling can change the surface or move the stones. Follow the adhesive directions instead of copying a drying shortcut from another craft material. Keep the tube away from heat and flame as directed.
Inspect after the waiting period
Check edges, corners and curved sections without pulling on every stone. If a stone is loose or glue has spread into a functional area, pause and decide whether the project can be corrected safely before use.
Quick checklist
- Use the time printed on your tube
- Leave the project flat and protected
- Avoid unapproved heat shortcuts
- Inspect before wearing or washing
